By addressing numbers 1 & 3 I suspect it will help number 2 a bit too.Tracyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17809180814553643509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-923813049383285532.post-43726670879566976982011-04-10T16:22:50.931+10:002011-04-10T16:22:50.931+10:00have you tried boxing?

I love the gym but there are so many ways to exercise that you should be able to find something you love - dance classes, yoga, hula hooping... if it makes you smile and you are moving, then perfect.Kathrynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08699328937978331608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-923813049383285532.post-49234131368161312602011-04-09T09:56:42.327+10:002011-04-09T09:56:42.327+10:00Proud of you! You can ask your GP to refer you to a psychologist under the mental health care plan. http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv2/bhcarticles.nsf/pages/mental_health_care_plans

You get 12 visits a year with a psyc(cost with medicare rebate is between $0 and $30) and can talk through anxiety and select a strategy to deal with it - mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy. You also have to see another allied health professional (always free on this plan) to be eligible so asking to see a dietician or an exercise physiologist just once is enough. It really doesn't require you to be 'mentally ill'. It is very common these days to see someone over a bit of anxiety or depression. The insights you gain can take 3-6 months to really sink in and apply. I am on both sides of this, having seen someone for anxiety and finishing up social work degree where I have learnt about counselling for these issues. Our minds are really in control of our thoughts so a bit of reframing on what you think is surprisingly helpful.
Just wanted to let you know of the mental health plan.Brighter and Lighterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15550038142181352773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-923813049383285532.post-27195220370787424202011-04-08T18:32:55.920+10:002011-04-08T18:32:55.920+10:00i think don't worry about being a better siste...i think don't worry about being a better sister, daughter, employee etc - cause ofter thinking/worrying about those things/feeling responsible for others can trigger anxiety etc. (that has been my experience at least). your life is about you and what makes you happy, not anyone else (imo). sounds like you have come up with some great steps to take - awesome job!!!Shazamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18247347834979792690noreply@blogger.com
