I braved the scales yesterday morning and found that I had lost half a kilo in the past couple of weeks. I am not quite sure whether my 4 day joy ride on food has taken full effect yet though...
I ended up going out after work last night for drinks. I wasn't planning on it, but I had a terrible day at work and I wanted to de-brief (bitch) with some colleagues. I am slightly annoyed at myself though because I spent far too much money and drank way too much and I didn't even have fun. I was so angry after the way a colleague spoke to me earlier in the day that I couldn't relax and I didn't even get drunk. I should have just gone home and watched a dvd and I would have felt a lot better. Oh well, it's done now.
I think I might just accept the fact that on Friday nights I am going to either go out and drink with friends or go home and watch a dvd and eat a pizza with my flat mate. I am sick of feeling guilty for doing this, but they are my favourite things to do on a Friday night after a long week of work. I am just going to allow myself to relax on Friday nights if I want to and stop feeling like a failure who can't control herself.
Taking this into account I have decided to change my weigh in day to Friday mornings, this gives me the longest possible time to get my weight back in control. I am not sure if that is cheating or not?! This also works in with meeting my weight loss goal that is set to finish on the morning I leave for my NZ holiday on Friday 17th August. So I have 4 weigh ins to go and I am hoping to lose 4.5 kilos, but I will be happy with 2 or 3 (that is what I am telling myself anyway). Mostly I would just like for my clothes to fit me, some of the are so close, but not quite there yet.
Hey! Congrats on the loss! A loss is a loss.
ReplyDeleteHere's my week. I weigh in Saturday AM - and I blow Saturday out of the water. I give myself Saturday to stay on track, if I didn't have something to look forward to I would eat the whole jar of peanut butter! I love Saturdays now - and it keeps me motivated.
Speaking of which - its 130am here - I weigh myself in the morning - and already we have big plans of supper out tomorrow night - and its not going to be a salad - I can tell you that now. :)
Yes - give yourself Friday nights. Allow yourself what you crave and don't feel guilty. Just make sure that you get back on track Saturday! :) Keep bloggin!
Ya hoo for a loss, no matter how small. I think weighing in on friday morning sounds good, I always used to weigh in on a saturday morning before weighin then have a lovely weekend of a few indulgences then work them off all week! worked for me.
ReplyDeleteWeighing in on Friday is not 'cheating' at all - in fact, if you eat well for 5 days out of 7 (or 4.67 days out of 7, if you're going to be having a weekly splurge on Friday), then a Friday morning weigh in will more accurately reflect the majority of your eating behaviour throughout the week - rather than being distorted by a couple of meals (which is what my current concern is with early Tuesday night dinners) I think this is a great decision, both statistically, and for you psyche. :-)
ReplyDeleteGood luck for the next 4 weigh ins ... I only have 3!! ... Stuff it ... I will try to lose another 2+ kilos but I am over stressing about it!!
ReplyDeleteWe had our first pizza shop open last night down the road .... Eagle Boys ... OMG .... What I loved about our little country town was there was no takeaway available.... in 12 months we are getting Hungry Jacks ..... Bugger!!
You have to allow for treats .... that way you are less likely to binge uncontrolably .... knowing you have friday to have your desired foods, you will stay on track easier ..... as long as it is only friday and it doesn't spill into saturday too.... lol
Way to go on your loss this week! And go ahead and change your weigh in day to whatever day you want. I used to wi on Mondays at wt watchers and now on my own, I weigh in on Wednesdays and like it a bit better as I have a tendency to eat more on the weekend.
ReplyDeleteYeah, have pizza every once in a while and don't beat yourself up. I try to do one meal I really want per week so I don't feel deprived.
Thanks for your comment Tully... I am stoked... but I am terrified at the same time...
ReplyDeleteI will keep everyone posted as to whats going on etc...
Take care and good luck with losing that 4.5 kg... if i can get a job on the first day of hunting..then you can definitely lose that amount.. hehe
I'm so glad to hear you got on the scale! And it was a good result!
ReplyDeleteAnd like everyone else says, weigh in on whatever day is the best for you... no reason to get yourself down for one day of 'extended' eating.
I'm thinking about giving myself a 'cheat day' too... I just never know what day to pick!
