LAP BAND



When I started this blog on New Years Eve in 2006 I had absolutely no intention of getting a lap band. I tried everything I could to lose weight, but I only managed to keep getting fatter and despise myself more. After 25 years of being overweight I made the incredibly difficult decision to have weight loss surgery. It has been one of the hardest things I have ever done, and I still struggle every single day, but ultimately it has been the best decision for me... I think...

Highest Weight: 129.7 kilos (285.5 lbs)
Weight Lost: 55 kilos (121 lbs)
Date of Surgery: 22nd May 2009
Cost: $3,400 out of pocket (health insurance paid the rest)
Restriction: 5.7 mls in a 10 ml Lap Band
