I'm Back!

So after a little over 4 weeks in London, Rome and Paris I am back in Melbourne. It is so good to be home, sometimes it is not until you go away that you realise how good you have it. I had a great time but I was very ready to leave by the end of the trip. It is really hard to travel on your own, I think it works for some people, but it's not for me. I'll post a huge boring picture post soon with all the details.

So it was an eventful trip home from Paris. I left on Friday night and got home on Monday afternoon! I flew from Paris to Singapore and then was held up in Singapore for 26 hours due to engine problems. They eventually got us to Sydney but couldn't get us a connecting flight to Melbourne and most of the Melbourne flights were cancelled due to strikes or something. It was such a long and frustrating few days, made worse by the fact that I hadn't slept since Thursday. It would have been fine if they had just told us they didn't have a flight for us for 26 hours so just go to a hotel and sleep and shower, but they strung us along and told us every 3 hours that our flight would be leaving. So we just sat there waiting and we weren't able to get some sleep or relax or get an earlier flight home. Not a pleasant experience.

I eventually got home at 1.00 pm on Monday and went to bed at 3.00 pm so of course I woke up at 2.00 am this morning and I am WIDE awake. So I have been catching up on every ones blogs, I have missed all you guys so much! I have to go to work this morning so this should be an interesting day, I am going to be such a crabby bitch by lunch time... Oh god and I am going to have 4 weeks worth of emails to read, it is not going to be a fun day...

There are 2 things that scare the crap out of me right now:

1. Getting on a scale
2. Looking at my credit card statement

  6. Welcome back :)

That seriously sucks about the messup of the flights. But at least you arrived back home safely.

And major suck that you had to go into work after just getting back home =/

Can't wait for the picture post.

    Much peace!

  7. Glad you had a great trip. Yes, I think the scale and the credit card statement would be my fears as well.

Perhaps once you have been brave enough to face one (the scale?) the other won't feel so daunting!

    Best wishes,
    Sharon

  8. Glad to have you back, I've missed you! :-D

I'm with the others, you should TOTALLY complain to the airline for stringing you along like that; 26 hours in an airport sounds... ugh!

Looking forward to the photo post!

  11. Ouch! That's a baaaaad flight. I fairly sure that if you're delayed over a certain amount that you're entitled to compensation though, so check it out.

I'm visiting home in July and I have a 10 hour layover in Bangkok. I am so. not. looking forward to it!
