Oh The Humidity

Do you know where you really wouldn't want to go when you have gained a stack of weight and feel repulsively fat? Darwin. Guess where I am?

Just as Melbourne is enjoying those beautiful crisp and sunny Autumn days with the delicious cool nights, I am in the hottest and most humid place in Australia. Lucky for me they seem to know how to do air conditioning pretty well here.

So I am here for work until Wednesday, then I am staying for a a mini holiday until Sunday. It is my friend's birthday and I had some Qantas vouchers I had to use, so I am flying him up for a few days and we are staying at a gorgeous resort. As you can see, I have spent my economic stimulus package before I have received it... Someone has to stimulate the poolside cocktail economy!

I am not sure I made the right decision to holiday here, given my aversion to the heat and crocodiles, but it seemed an exotic idea at the time. I'll be sure to post photos.

Melbourne to Darwin, that was a long flight for someone who can barely do up the seat belt on the plane...

  1. Hi!
    Longtime lurker here :)

I went to Darwin last year and similarly had gained a stack of weight... The only good thing is that most places have aircon up there.. Being a tourist and being outside all the time sucks though!.. I love the laidback atmosphere up there and it is so easy to get around the city :).. If you can get out there the Territory Wildlife Park is well worth a look though, however I recommend bypassing the fish-feeding!! :)

Hope you enjoy your time up there! :)

  2. Enjoy your week away :) Have some umbrella drinks for me.

  3. Enjoy your week away :) Have some umbrella drinks for me.

  4. Ahhh ... what I wouldn't give to be where I could complain about heat and humidity and have autumn days lingering. We're expecting snow flurries today here on the other side of the world!

  5. I actually love the humidity, apart from my feet, they swell like elephant's labia at an orgy!!

  6. hahahaha Jules - you crack me up!

Tully, please try to have a bit of fun on your mini holiday! Umbrella Drinks indeed!

  7. I've never been to Darwin, but from what I've heard lounging by the pool and drinking is a good way to pass the time!

I've also been told the Fanny Bay markets are pretty good.

*smothers giggle* I'm so immature :P

Hope you have lots of fun xx

  8. I went to Port Douglas at my biggest so I totally know how you feel chicky. Hope you have a great time nonetheless. Enjoy those umbrella drinks!

  9. Eeep I don't fare too well in humidity either. I do hope you're having a fab holiday and avoiding those crocs. Looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Have a safe flight back :-)

  10. I have never been to Australia! Wish I could go though! Sounds like you are having fun! Can't wait to hear about your travels upon your return!

  11. Just have fun ..... enjoy your time away!!!!
